Coordinated Nighttime Assault Hits Kyiv

According to МВС: Ukraine's Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi reported a multi-faceted overnight attack on Kyiv that resulted in damage to more than fifty sites and claimed the lives of two individuals. Explosions continued for nearly five hours, during which emergency responders and police worked tirelessly to manage the aftermath. Among the affected locations were residential buildings, a dormitory, a schoolyard, shops, a gas station, and a flour production facility. Destruction was noted across multiple districts of the capital.

Response and Rescue Efforts

According to updates, the number of injured civilians has risen to sixteen. Rescue teams successfully saved thirteen people, including evacuations from a trapped area in the Holosiivskyi district. During the attacks, emergency service vehicles were targeted again. More than 300 emergency workers and police officers are actively involved at seven different sites throughout Kyiv. Their tasks include:

• extinguishing fires,
• clearing rubble,
• documenting acts of terror,
• registering damage claims,
• providing assistance to those affected.

Mobile service centers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs are also operational to help residents restore lost documents.

Beyond Kyiv, Russian forces launched strikes in the Kyiv region as well as in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Odesa regions. In Odesa, missile attacks targeted a local market, while in the morning hours, a Kyiv-Sumy train came under assault in Sumy. People caught in danger zones were evacuated by buses organized by Ukraine's State Emergency Service and regional administrations. Firefighters also managed to extinguish a blaze that engulfed a locomotive.
