Meeting of Ukrainian and Dutch Prime Ministers

According to Кабмін: During his first official visit to Ukraine, Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko. Their discussions covered a broad range of cooperative efforts, including defense manufacturing, financial aid, energy resilience, and preparations for an upcoming intergovernmental conference.

The Netherlands reaffirmed its support for Ukraine's path toward European integration. Notably, the Dutch government's coalition agreement includes a provision for €3 billion in annual support for Ukraine during the 2027–2029 period. Yuliia Svyrydenko highlighted the scope of the partnership, stating:

On the financial front, the Netherlands has already contributed €133 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund since the start of the year. The talks also addressed plans for regional energy stability and applying Dutch expertise in water resource management. Looking ahead, both nations are preparing for a Ukrainian-Dutch intergovernmental conference in Breda and a business forum aimed at forging new partnerships. Separately, as part of an international coalition, the Netherlands has allocated €2 million to support family reunification and psychological aid for children.

Significance of the Partnership

This high-level meeting marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties between Ukraine and the Netherlands, particularly given the ongoing challenges Ukraine faces. The Netherlands' sustained support in financial and defense sectors is poised to substantially contribute to Ukraine's stability and development in the coming years. The planned intergovernmental conference and business forum underscore a shared commitment from both countries to deepen economic collaboration and reinforce their strategic partnership.
