Netherlands Commits €2 Million to Recover Ukrainian Children Deported by Russia

Returned children: help with the search
Нідерланди виділили 2 мільйони євро на відновлення прав українських дітей, які були депортовані Росією.

International Efforts to Recover Deported Children

According to Главком: The Dutch government has pledged an additional €2 million to support the search and return of Ukrainian children forcibly taken by Russia from occupied territories. This funding will be used to purchase DNA testing kits for relatives of missing children and to provide psychosocial support for those who have endured deportation. The conflict in Ukraine has led to one of the largest-scale forced child transfers in recent European history.

Former U.S. First Lady Melania Trump has also been active in this cause, having now assisted for a third time in reuniting Ukrainian children, abducted by Russia, with their families. According to her press office, her efforts have directly contributed to these successful returns.

Bring Kids Back UA Reaches a Milestone

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the number of children returned under the Bring Kids Back UA initiative has reached 2,000.

“The number of children we have managed to bring back from Russian control within the Bring Kids Back UA initiative has reached 2,000,” he stated.

This initiative aims to help children who have become victims of war return to their homes and families.

This development underscores the ongoing international efforts to address the profound humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. The support from the Netherlands and the advocacy of figures like Melania Trump highlight the critical need for global solidarity in protecting children's rights and facilitating family reunification. The Bring Kids Back UA initiative demonstrates that, despite immense challenges, tangible progress is being made to restore connections for families torn apart by the conflict.
