Support for military aid to Ukraine in Germany

Among those surveyed, 38% believe that the current levels of military assistance are appropriate, while 14% advocate for an increase. However, 42% of respondents think that such assistance is excessive, the highest percentage in recent years. In the eastern regions of Germany, 54% of voters noted that supplying arms to Ukraine is too large.

In light of Berlin's acknowledgment of Russia's involvement in the incident with drones at Leipzig/Halle Airport, the German government plans to increase military support for Ukraine. In particular, in September, Germany intends to transfer thousands of strike drones and missiles for the Iris-T air defense system to Ukraine. Furthermore, Berlin aims to enhance cooperation between German and Ukrainian intelligence services, considering the possibility of assisting Ukraine in gathering coordinates for counterattacks against Russia.

Trust in political forces and opinions in Poland

The distribution of trust in political forces in Germany regarding ensuring peace in Europe shows that the highest trust among citizens is noted for the CDU/CSU, which received 23% support. Other parties have lower ratings:

• Greens - 8%
• The Left - 6%
• Alliance of Sahra Wagenknecht - 3%
• FDP - 2%

Meanwhile, in Poland, opinions on continuing military aid to Ukraine are almost evenly divided, while a majority of citizens oppose Ukraine's accession to the European Union and Polish military involvement in post-war missions.

These survey results indicate growing concern among the German population regarding the scale of military aid to Ukraine, which may influence political decisions in the country. The situation in Poland also reflects the difficulties in supporting Ukraine, as society is divided on issues of European integration and military participation in the conflict. This underscores the importance of political dialogue and strategic planning in both countries to ensure stability in the region.
