These funds will be directed towards military and humanitarian needs of the country. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre emphasized that the level of support will remain at this year's level, which is approximately 9 billion US dollars. He also noted that Ukraine will set the priorities, and Norway will respond to the most urgent requests.

Importance of Supporting Ukraine

Speaking at a press conference, Jonas Gahr Støre stressed that supporting Ukraine is important not only from a humanitarian perspective but also as an investment in Europe's security.

He added that “This will align with Ukraine's priorities. Ukraine determines the needs, and we are doing everything possible to respond to them.”

Norwegian Minister of Defense Tore O. Sandvik confirmed that the country does not plan to reduce its support for Ukraine. He also noted that contributions from some countries exceed their fair share, while other economically powerful European states allocate fewer resources. Sandvik named Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, the Baltic states, and Germany among the governments that support Ukraine the most.
