In Ukraine, a new financial support for children from internally displaced persons' families will be introduced starting February 1, 2026. This concerns monthly payments of 3000 UAH for each child. The decision has already been agreed at the political level and is being prepared for legal formalization. Visit Ukraine reports on this.
The launch of the program was announced by the head of the tax committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Danilo Hetmantsev. According to him, agreements were reached within the framework of the coalition work of the Council, and the corresponding resolution is expected to be adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine soon.
Financial assistance for IDP children: who will receive 3000 UAH
Starting from February 1, 2026, payments will be allocated to all children in families of internally displaced persons without exceptions. The key condition is the presence of IDP status in the family.
The payment includes:
-
3000 UAH per month for each child
-
payments regardless of family income
-
no connection to salaries, social benefits, or other income
Thus, the assistance will not affect the receipt of other types of social support.
Payments to IDP children: what else the state plans
In addition to new assistance for children, parliamentarians are working on expanding support for other categories of IDPs. In particular, discussions are underway to raise the maximum income threshold for assistance eligibility to 10,380 UAH per month under current criteria.
According to Danilo Hetmantsev, control over the implementation of adopted decisions will continue to ensure that payments are made on time and in full. It is expected that the new program will become one of the key elements of social support for IDPs in 2026.
As a reminder, the government is launching free health care for children of veterans and IDPs.
