Nova Poshta Shuts Down Branch in Komyshuvakha Amid Shelling: What Comes Next
Nova Poshta Branch Closure in Komyshuvakha
According to Главком: Due to escalating security risks, Nova Poshta is closing its branch in Komyshuvakha, located in the Zaporizhzhia region. The decision was driven by relentless shelling, the threat of FPV drones, and the facility's proximity to the front line, which posed daily dangers for both staff and customers. This branch had been operational for nearly two years and had become a vital logistics hub for the local population.
Each day, around 100 residents visited the branch to collect medicine, food, and humanitarian aid. In March alone, 10,000 parcels passed through this location. The team consisted of eight employees, including 24-year-old Kiril Grabka, and was comprised of:
- Manager: Oleksandr (24)
- Operators: Vasyl (33), Vadym (19), Svitlana (38)
- Loaders: Denys (27), Oleksandr (38)
- Driver: Yuriy (45)
All team members are residents of frontline Zaporizhzhia, including Komyshuvakha and nearby destroyed settlements.
Nova Poshta's press service stated: 'For almost two years, this branch served as a backbone and critical logistics point for the frontline community. However, the security situation no longer permits us to operate here.'
Despite the closure, partners Mykola and Kiril Grabka remain with Nova Poshta and are already preparing to open a new branch in a neighboring settlement, staffed by the same team.
Humanitarian Conditions and New Pricing
On April 13, Nova Poshta implemented updated service tariffs affecting the delivery of documents, parcels, and freight. Earlier, a Russian Geran-2 drone strike destroyed a Nova Poshta branch in Novomykolaivka, also in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The closure of the Komyshuvakha branch underscores the dire humanitarian situation in the region, where access to logistics services is critical for local residents. This move also highlights the persistent threats faced by companies operating in frontline zones. Plans to open a new branch in a nearby settlement signal the company's efforts to adapt to wartime conditions and continue supporting the local community.
