According to Главком: Julia Klöckner, President of the German Bundestag, has made her first visit to Kyiv since her election, arriving at the invitation of Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada. This visit carries significant weight during the ongoing war, with Stefanchuk noting that

"the presence of the German parliament's leadership in Kyiv is of particular importance."

Klöckner was elected as the Bundestag's presiding officer in 2025 during its inaugural session. She previously served as Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture in Angela Merkel's government from 2018 to 2021. The President of the Bundestag is the second-highest constitutional office in Germany, ranking immediately after the Federal President.
