According to ХВИЛЯ: Following renewed attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, new damage and power restrictions have been reported in several regions. The situation is being exacerbated by a drop in temperatures and severe winter weather. As of the morning of February 2, new damage to power networks from shelling has been confirmed. The affected areas include Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy oblasts.

Power Supply Situation

Across Ukraine, scheduled power limitations for industry and hourly blackouts for the population are in effect. As of 9:30 AM on February 2, the level of electricity consumption had surged by 7.5% compared to the previous day. Due to the severe weather, including ice and frost coating power lines, 162 settlements in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad oblasts are currently without power.

Furthermore, emergency power shutdowns have been forced in certain areas and will be lifted as soon as the situation in the energy system stabilizes, according to the energy company. The list of oblasts where damage has been recorded includes:

• Dnipropetrovsk
• Cherkasy
• Odesa
• Mykolaiv
• Kirovohrad

The situation requires an urgent response, as the deteriorating weather conditions are hampering efforts to restore electricity. These attacks are part of a long-term campaign targeting Ukraine's civilian energy grid, which has left the system vulnerable.
