Zelenskyy Announces Potential March Talks with Russia in Abu Dhabi
New Round of Talks Announced
According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a new round of negotiations with the Russian Federation, likely to be held in Abu Dhabi in early March. This development follows talks between Ukrainian and American delegations that took place in Geneva on February 26.
During a discussion with Rustem Umerov, David Arakhamia, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, Zelenskyy expressed confidence in the readiness for the next round of trilateral negotiations. He stated:
We must finalize everything achieved so far to secure real safety guarantees and prepare for a meeting at the leadership level. It is this format that can resolve many issues.
- Volodymyr Zelenskyy
The Ukrainian delegation in Geneva on February 26 was represented by:
- David Arakhamia
- Oleksiy Sobolev
- Daryna Marchak
Meanwhile, the American delegation was represented by:
- Steve Witkoff
- Jared Kushner
The special representative of the Russian dictator, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev, also arrived at the Four Seasons hotel in Geneva for negotiations with the United States.
Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of ending the war, noting that:
The war must be ended – this is our position, this is Ukraine's position, this is the position of all our partners.
- Volodymyr Zelenskyy
He added that 'the recipe is clear to everyone in the world. Russia will stop the war even on its own, of its own volition, when the world finally stops Russian oil, other Russian energy resources, and Russian banks.'
Thus, the new talks could become a crucial step in the search for paths to peace and stability in the region. These diplomatic efforts come at a critical juncture in the ongoing conflict. It is significant that Ukraine continues to actively work on international security guarantees and engages partners for support in resolving the conflict. The success of the upcoming negotiations could substantially influence the further development of events in the region and the relations between Ukraine and Russia.
