According to hvylya.net: Ukrzaliznytsia plans to significantly enhance high-speed connections, raising its percentage to 30% over the next three years and to 40% in five. The head of the company's board, Oleksandr Pertsevsky, stated that this step is crucial for reducing ticket shortages, especially during peak demand periods.

According to the carrier, the issue of lack of seats is particularly acute on popular routes. For example, on the Kyiv-Lviv route, where only 18,500 seats are available daily, passengers conducted over 142,000 ticket searches in just one week.

In its plans, Ukrzaliznytsia also envisions expanding and improving the use of rolling stock. Each year, there are plans to purchase 100 new carriages from 2026 to 2028.

A separate focus will be the reorganization of regional transportation

In particular, the company is preparing to launch new routes for electric trains and diesel trains for short distances. This will meet the demand for transportation over distances up to 300 km, and will include routes such as Kyiv-Vinnytsia, Kyiv-Cherkasy, Kyiv-Rivne-Lutsk, Lviv-Yasinia, Lviv-Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi-Vinnytsia.

Under the leadership of Ukrzaliznytsia, the expansion of high-speed connections, reorganization of regional transport, and procurement of new rolling stock are planned to enhance service and reduce ticket shortages. New train routes for short distances will allow passengers to travel conveniently between various cities in Ukraine, meeting the demand for comfortable and accessible transport.
