The new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine named the main task in the position

Brigadier General Gennady Shapovalov, appointed as the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, addressed the Ukrainians and shared his thoughts and tasks in his new position. He noted that he understands all the problems and challenges that military personnel face daily.

“One of the main tasks today is troop generation. This includes the process of forming, training, and manning the combat units and subdivisions of the Ground Forces. The future of Ukraine depends on how we prepare our troops at the front. All our efforts should be aimed at preserving the existence of our state,”

Shapovalov also emphasized the importance of developing all parts of the Ground Forces and equipping them with modern technologies. The new commander urged military personnel to be professionals and heroes, as they are the heart of Ukrainian defense.

President Volodymyr Zelensky, introducing the new Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal, outlined key priorities and tasks for the defense agency. Both leaders plan to develop and strengthen the Ukrainian army to ensure the country's security.
