According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the weather on this day will be determined by the rear part of a cyclone centered to the northeast of the country. This will result in winter conditions with a brisk west and northwest wind. The wind will reach speeds of 7-12 m/s, with gusts of 15-20 m/s in the western regions, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Odesa regions.

Temperature conditions and consequences

In the south and southeast of Ukraine, light snow is expected. On the roads, icy conditions may form in places, which could complicate the movement of vehicles. Overnight temperatures will range from 4 to 9 degrees below zero, while in the Carpathians, it may drop to 13 degrees below zero. During the day, temperatures in most regions will be between 2-7 degrees below zero, while in the south, they are expected to range from 4 degrees below zero to 1 degree above zero.

In the Kyiv region and the capital, light snow is also forecasted. In the Kyiv region, nighttime temperatures will be around 4-9 degrees below zero, and during the day, they will be 2-7 degrees below zero. In Kyiv, nighttime temperatures will drop to 6-8 degrees below zero, while during the day, they will remain around 5 degrees below zero.

On New Year's Eve in Ukraine, snow is possible, but not in all regions, according to Ivan Semilyta.
