Increase in Passenger Traffic During the Holidays
According to Главком: During the New Year and Christmas holidays, a surge in passenger traffic is expected at border crossing points in Ukraine. The highest load is forecasted for early January. According to information, by the end of last week, there were 140 thousand border crossings recorded on Saturday and 155 thousand on Sunday. This indicates a significant rush associated with the festive travels of Ukrainians.
As Andriy Demechenko noted, queues were actively recorded towards the end of last week. Given the dynamics, the end of the rush regarding border crossings is expected closer to January 10. It is noted that on December 21, over 75 thousand people crossed the state border within the Lviv region, confirming the trend of increasing travelers.
Tips for Travelers
Thus, citizens should be prepared for possible queues at border crossing points during the New Year holidays and plan their trips taking into account the expected increase in passenger traffic.
The increase in passenger traffic during the New Year holidays is a traditional phenomenon related to Ukrainians' desire to visit relatives or spend vacation abroad. Since the holiday period is often accompanied by increased demand for transport services, it is important for travelers to plan their trips in advance and consider the likelihood of traffic jams at the border. This will help avoid unexpected delays and make the journey more comfortable.
