NBU Warns About New Scam Scheme: How to Steal Money from Your Card
Ukrainian internet scammers are active again! This time they are posing as bank representatives and promising a monetary reward of 1000 hryvnias for participating in a survey. But in reality, this is just a cunning way to withdraw funds from the bank accounts of Ukrainians. The criminals send emails with links to phishing pages that resemble the official bank websites. After visiting these pages, users are asked to complete a survey and enter personal information such as phone number, SMS code, and card PIN. This information is then used by the scammers to access the victim's account and withdraw funds. The NBU has urged citizens to be cautious and not to trust dubious messages about 'payments' or 'surveys from the bank.' To protect against phishing, it is recommended to check the website address before entering personal information, to verify information only on official bank websites, and to avoid clicking on links from unknown sources.
