Electricity restrictions from November 25: will last around the clock

According to ХВИЛЯ: Starting November 25, Ukraine will impose electricity consumption restrictions due to the consequences of Russian attacks on energy facilities. These restrictions will be in effect from 00:00 to 23:59 and will be implemented in volumes ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 shifts. As a result of the attacks, Ukraine has lost approximately 50% of its generating capacity, which has significantly affected the stability of electricity supply.

Possible electricity outages

Possible electricity outages for consumers may last from 8 to 14 hours a day. In particular, it is known that an electric stove consumes between 3.5 to 5 kW, an air conditioner – from 2.5 to 3.2 kW, and an electric kettle and an iron – from 2 to 2.5 kW. Ukrenergo warned that the timing and volume of the restrictions may change depending on the situation.

In order to ensure transparency in the restriction process, hourly disconnection schedules for residential consumers will be published, as well as power restriction schedules for industrial consumers. This will allow consumers to better plan their electricity consumption in the conditions of instability in the energy system.

The introduction of restrictions on electricity consumption is a response to the critical situation in Ukraine's energy sector.

The loss of a significant portion of generating capacity due to attacks threatens not only the comfort of residential consumers but also the operation of industry. Transparency in disconnection schedules will help the population and businesses adapt to the new conditions, although the situation will remain difficult in the short term.
