Restriction of powers of NABU and SAP. Opponents of the parliament's decision are holding protests
Protests are taking place in various cities of Ukraine due to the adoption of draft law No. 12414 by the Verkhovna Rada. Participants in the rallies demand that a veto be imposed on this law, which restricts the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP). Protests are happening in Kyiv, Lviv, and Dnipro. Hundreds of people have taken to the streets of these cities with posters demanding the rejection of the law that will limit the work of NABU and SAP.

The parliament's website has stopped displaying information cards with draft laws, including No. 12414. Although there were reports of technical problems, other sections are working without changes. NABU Director Semen Kryvonos has appealed to President Volodymyr Zelensky to refrain from signing draft law No. 12414, which restricts the work of the bureau and the prosecutor's office. According to Kryvonos, this law turns NABU and SAP into dependent structures. The chief director stated: 'Two independent institutions - NABU and SAP are effectively becoming dependent. We are firmly against this. Only the president's signature remains, and we ask him to impose a veto on this draft law'. The 'Servant of the People' faction provided the largest number of votes 'for' the draft law, which worries specialized structures in the European Union, but has not yet led to the cessation of financial support for Ukraine. The events are accompanied by protests from citizens against the restriction of the powers of NABU and SAP, who gather on the streets of Ukrainian cities. The NABU director urges the president to impose a veto on this draft law to prevent the dependency of anti-corruption structures.
