Kyiv Traffic Disruptions on February 20: Road Closures and Reasons
Traffic Restrictions in Kyiv
According to Главком: Road repairs will cause partial traffic restrictions in Kyiv's Pechersk district on February 20. According to the Kyiv City State Administration's press service, citing the municipal road service Kyivavtodor, these restrictions will be in effect from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on a section of Naberezhne Highway. The affected stretch runs from the Paton Bridge interchange to Poshtova Square. Traffic will be managed by alternating one-lane passage for vehicles. Such maintenance work is common in the city as it prepares for the spring thaw.
Additional Traffic Disruptions
Other significant traffic restrictions are currently in place across Kyiv:
- The Southern Bridge will be partially closed until February 28 for repairs to the expansion joints on the section spanning the Dnipro River and the right-bank overpass heading from the right to the left bank.
- The overpass on Ronald Reagan Street is closed for major repairs until November 30.
- Bus routes for numbers 6, 44, and 37TR have been altered.
- The stop for the Ronald Reagan Street high-speed tram has been temporarily relocated 70 meters in the direction of Kashtanova Street.
These traffic disruptions, while creating temporary inconvenience for drivers and public transport users, are necessary for maintaining the city's infrastructure. The ongoing road and bridge repairs aim to improve safety and the quality of road surfaces in the long term. It is crucial for Kyiv residents to stay informed about these changes and plan their routes accordingly to minimize delays.
