Decision on mandatory evacuation

According to Главком: The Defense Council of the Chernihiv region has made a decision on mandatory evacuation from 14 border villages due to daily shelling. This decision is a response to the escalation of the military situation in the region, where regular attacks by Russian invaders are ongoing.

Evacuation will be carried out from four communities:

  • Novhorod-Siverskyi
  • Semenivka
  • Snovsk
  • Horodnia

Currently, about 300 people remain in the Chernihiv region living in these settlements. In 2023, more than 1,400 residents left the border area, indicating an active evacuation process.

Evacuation plan and situation in the region

According to the decision, the evacuation must be completed within 30 days. On the night of December 30, Chernihiv region was again shelled, which led to damage to an important energy facility in the Chernihiv district.
