Raids in the office of the 'Batkivshchyna' party
According to Главком: Leader of the 'Batkivshchyna' party Yulia Tymoshenko confirmed the raids in the party office, which she described as a political order. According to Tymoshenko, the raids lasted all night, during which more than thirty armed men seized the building and took the staff hostage. Moreover, the raid was conducted without presenting any documents.
Tymoshenko also noted that the investigators did not provide any evidence during the raid. She reported that during the seizure, her work phones, parliamentary documents, and personal savings, which are fully reflected in the official declaration, were taken.
“Found nothing, so they just took my work phones, parliamentary documents, and personal savings,” – noted Tymoshenko.
Political situation in Ukraine
Furthermore, she pointed out that the situation may indicate the approaching elections and expressed the opinion that 'someone decided to start cleaning up competitors'. Tymoshenko emphasized that this is not the first political order against her, and persecution and terror have become her daily life for many years.
It is reminded that NABU and SAP prosecutors documented illegal activities of the head of one of the parliamentary factions, who is accused of offering monetary rewards to deputies for their votes. The mentioned crime corresponds to part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
This event underscores the tense political atmosphere in Ukraine, especially in the context of the approaching elections. Raids in the office of the opposition party 'Batkivshchyna' may indicate attempts to influence political opponents, raising concerns about the democratic processes in the country. Tymoshenko's reaction to these actions and her calls about political persecution may influence public opinion and the further development of the political situation in Ukraine.
