According to glavcom.ua: In November 2025, militants attacked in the area of the village of Hnativka in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region and killed a Ukrainian serviceman whom they were holding captive. This information was published by the 'Glavkom' portal, citing the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office.

The militants captured the soldier, tied his hands, one of them struck several blows to the head with the butt of a rifle, and then cold-bloodedly shot him.

'Intentional killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a serious international crime. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the fact of committing a war crime that resulted in the death of a person,' the message states.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the event and the individuals who committed this crime. Other Ukrainian prisoners of war have also been shot in Donetsk region, which has also become the subject of investigation.

Brutal murder in the Huliaipole direction

In the Huliaipole direction in the Zaporizhzhia region, five Ukrainian servicemen who found themselves in captivity were shot by Russian soldiers. This terrible crime occurred on the morning of November 27. The General Prosecutor's Office reported that the Russian soldiers ruthlessly killed the defenders who were in captivity.

Ukrainian servicemen continue to face the brutality of the occupiers, which violates international law and humanitarian principles regarding the treatment of prisoners of war. For the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the conflict in Donbas remains a key challenge in terms of security and humanitarian aspects.
