Escalation of the situation in the Sumy region: occupants actively shell border territories

Over the past day, Russian invaders have maintained high activity in shelling the territories of border regions, particularly Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions. At the same time, their activity in the Sumy direction has decreased. This was reported by the spokesperson of the State Border Service, Andriy Demchenko.

"The advancement of small assault groups is being held back, and their activity has significantly decreased," he noted.

Active use of aviation by the enemy

Demchenko emphasized that the occupants are actively using aviation to strike in Sumy region, launching guided bombs and unguided missiles. The largest number of shelling is observed in Yunakivka and Khotyn communities.

According to the State Border Service, the 1226th day of hostilities against Ukraine continues. In the past day, 185 clashes have been recorded. The enemy carried out two missile strikes, 62 airstrikes, and 5520 shellings, including 84 from multiple launch rocket systems. The occupants also used 3194 kamikaze drones.

The defense forces of Ukraine continue the defensive operation in the Northern Slobozhansky direction and are pushing the enemy out of the border territories of the Sumy region. Recently, US President Donald Trump expressed his concern about the situation in the region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with military leadership and the Minister of Defense on the situation at the front, the Kursk operation, and the development of Ukrainian drone production.
