World Aquatics allowed Russian athletes: Swishchov's sharp reaction

According to glavcom.ua: Oleksandr Swishchov actively opposed the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to water polo competitions, calling it 'legalization of aggression' and an 'immoral' decision. He urged the NOC of Ukraine and other sports organizations to unite against this step. Since 2022, Swishchov has been standing his ground and preparing official letters to international organizations demanding a review of the situation.

«This is not just a blow to the principles of fairness and sports ethics – it is a cynical disregard for common sense and the memory of victims of war,» – emphasized Swishchov.

In his appeal to international federations, he emphasizes the importance of maintaining sports fairness and moral principles in sports and calls for open support for countries that stand against aggression and the violation of international law.
