Heating Season 2025: When to Turn on the Heat and What Will Happen to the Tariffs

According to hvylya.net: Ukrainians have received a message about the start of the heating season. According to government resolution No. 830, there will be no increase in prices for heating, hot water supply, and gas for citizens. This means that tariffs will remain at the previous level, and the amount of payments will be determined by the presence of a meter and weather conditions.

Heating will be turned on when the air temperature remains at +8 degrees and below for an extended period. Local authorities can independently set the start date of the heating season considering the climatic conditions of their region.

The municipal authority can ensure heating for kindergartens, schools, and hospitals even before the heating of private houses begins.

Heating Tariffs and Future Prospects

The Ukrainian government explained to the IMF that the issue of revising tariffs for the population will be resolved after the end of the military conflict. For example, in Kyiv, prices for heat will remain at the level of 1654.41 hryvnias per unit since 2019. Experts also revealed corruption schemes in the public services sector.

Ukrainians have been informed about the start of the heating season. The authorities assured that heating tariffs will remain unchanged, and local bodies will be able to turn on heating as soon as the temperature drops to a low level. The issue of reviewing tariffs is also discussed only after the military conflict ends and the fight against corruption in the public services sector.
