Ukraine's Largest Employers: Updated Ranking

According to Главком: Opendatabot has refreshed its ranking of Ukraine’s biggest employers, drawing on financial reporting data. The list saw new leaders emerge in six regions, while eight companies featured in the ranking also made it into the Opendatabot Index 2026.

On a national scale and in the capital, Ukrzaliznytsia remains the top employer with 169,952 workers, though its workforce shrank by 4.9% year-over-year. In retail, ATB-Market leads as the largest employer in the Dnipropetrovsk region, providing jobs for 46,649 people and growing by 1.2% annually.

Regional Leaders

  • In Poltava region, the Aurora retail chain (Vygidna Kupivlia LLC) tops the list with 14,590 employees, showing significant growth of 16%.
  • In Volyn region, WOG (Petrol Contract LLC) became the new leader, with its workforce expanding 1.7 times to 5,490 people.
  • The Fora supermarket chain (Fozzy Group) is the largest employer in Kyiv region, with 9,462 staff and a 3% annual increase.
  • Zaporizhstal (SCM Group) remains the leader in Zaporizhzhia with 8,039 specialists, though its headcount dropped by 6.3% compared to last year.
  • Vinnytsia Poultry Farm (MHP Group) leads in Vinnytsia region, employing 6,636 people and growing by 11.3%.
  • OKKO-Drive is the largest employer in Lviv region, with 6,579 workers, but its staff numbers decreased by 2% over the year.
  • In Zhytomyr region, the UPG gas station chain (Ukrpaletsystem PE) leads with 4,154 employees, marking an 8% increase.
  • The Faino Market chain (Veresen Plus LLC) is the top employer in Kirovohrad region, with 3,569 workers and a 7% rise.
  • Se Bordnetze-Ukraine, a cable harness plant, leads in Ternopil region with 3,215 employees, though its workforce fell by 9% year-over-year.
  • Flexronics LLC is the largest employer in Zakarpattia region, with its staff shrinking by 6% to 2,408 workers.
  • The Taistra Group retail chain leads in Chernivtsi region for the second consecutive year, employing 1,163 people, despite a 6% decline.
  • In Kherson region, Taurt Medical (Medicgroup LLC) is the leader with 426 staff, also down by 6% annually.

These shifts in the ranking of Ukraine's largest employers reflect labor market trends, with some companies expanding while others face workforce reductions.

This ranking serves as a key indicator of Ukraine's economic climate, highlighting how businesses are adapting to changing labor conditions. Growth in employee numbers at certain firms may signal recovery from economic challenges, while staff cuts elsewhere could stem from optimization or shifts in consumer demand. The labor market remains dynamic, requiring close monitoring by analysts and government agencies.
