The images were captured by photographer Allan Grant, while journalist Richard Merryman conducted the recorded interview. These materials were handed over to Chris Flanner and Jason Green by Grant’s widow. The photos, which show Monroe posing at her home in Los Angeles, had remained unseen for 60 years and were taken less than three months before her death.

Born Norma Jeane Mortenson in Los Angeles in 1926, Marilyn Monroe was the third child of Gladys Pearl Baker. She passed away on August 4, 1962, from acute barbiturate poisoning, with the time of death estimated between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM. Empty pill bottles were found near her bedside. The year 2026 will mark the 100th anniversary of her birth.
