According to hvylya.net: According to data from the Minfin portal, tomatoes and cucumbers have become more accessible for consumers in Ukraine. July brought good news for those who monitor prices in supermarkets and markets. Thanks to active cultivation and an increase in supply from Ukrainian producers, prices for these popular vegetables are demonstrating stable declines.

Cucumbers have become more affordable

Notable changes have occurred with cucumber prices. If in June the average cost of a kilogram of cucumbers was 57.15 hryvnias, now the prices have changed. Usually, regular cucumbers can be bought for an average of 44.99 hryvnias per kilogram.

Smooth cucumbers have also become more accessible - the average price is 56.85 hryvnias per kilogram. In the Metro chain, they are sold for 44.90 hryvnias, and in Megamarket for 68.80 hryvnias per kilogram.

Tomatoes: variety at affordable prices

The tomato market has also pleased consumers with falling prices. Red tomatoes currently cost on average 82.63 hryvnias per kilogram, depending on the store. Pink tomatoes, which are highly valued for their taste, can be purchased for an average of 88.40 hryvnias per kilogram. Prices for cream tomatoes have also fallen, now averaging 82.72 hryvnias per kilogram.

Compared to June, prices for vegetables have noticeably decreased, making them more accessible for consumers. Prices for cucumbers and tomatoes have changed significantly, which will benefit buyers and make their purchases more economical.

Ukrainian producers of tomatoes and cucumbers have actively cultivated these vegetables, leading to an increase in market supply. This will promote increased competition among sellers, and consequently, will help further reduce vegetable prices for consumers. Positive consequences may include improved nutrition for the population and increased availability of fresh vegetables in the diet of Ukrainians.
