Paramount Pictures Begins Production on Cyberpunk 2077 Feature Film
According to НВ — Техно: Hollywood studio Paramount Pictures has officially started developing a full-length movie inspired by the widely acclaimed video game Cyberpunk 2077. The project will be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, collaborating closely with CD Projekt Red, the Polish developers behind the original game. Set in a dystopian future version of California, the story follows V, a mercenary who acquires an experimental biochip containing the digital consciousness of Johnny Silverhand, a rebellious rocker and terrorist.
Commercial Success of the Cyberpunk Franchise
Cyberpunk 2077 has proven to be a major commercial hit, selling over 40 million copies worldwide. Its narrative expansion, Phantom Liberty, has also performed well, with 15 million copies sold. Alongside the Cyberpunk film, Paramount is gearing up to release a new Street Fighter action movie on October 16, produced in partnership with Legendary Studios.
In addition, Paramount is moving forward with a film adaptation of the popular shooter franchise Call of Duty. This project will be directed by Peter Berg, with Taylor Sheridan co-writing the screenplay.
