Exposing Members of Parliament for Receiving Illegal Benefits
According to САП: The prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) together with detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) uncovered five members of the Ukrainian Parliament for receiving illegal benefits. At the request of the Deputy Prosecutor General, charges were presented to these deputies on December 27, 2025.
Systematic Nature of Criminal Activity
According to information, the criminal group, which included the mentioned deputies, has been operating since 2021. The amount of illegal benefits varied from 2,000 to 20,000 USD. Specifically, from September 2022 to November 2022, the amount of illegal benefit was 2,000 USD. Later, starting from August 2025, this amount increased to 5,000 USD.
Moreover, from November to December 2023, one of the group members received an illegal benefit of no less than 145,000 USD. These data indicate the systematic nature of the criminal activity, which raised concerns among the public and law enforcement agencies. The investigation is ongoing, and the details of the case may have serious consequences for the individuals involved.
This situation underscores the seriousness of the corruption problem in Ukraine, particularly at the highest levels of power. The exposure of deputies for receiving illegal benefits may affect the image of state institutions and encourage further reforms in the fight against corruption.
