Increase in pensions and social benefits in Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: As of January 1, 2026, pensions and social benefits have been increased in Ukraine, which will affect the financial security of many citizens. In particular, the minimum wage has risen to 8,647 UAH, which is an increase compared to the previous 8,000 UAH.

Changes in pensions and social benefits

The minimum pension amount for non-working individuals aged 65 and older with a full insurance record is now 3,458.80 UAH. Additionally, the subsistence minimum for individuals who have lost their ability to work has increased from 2,361 UAH to 2,595 UAH. The minimum pension by age for non-working retirees with a full insurance record has also increased by 234 UAH, reaching 2,595 UAH.

For retirees with more than 30 or 35 years of service, the pension will increase by 1% of 2,595 UAH for each full year that exceeds this norm. Furthermore, from January 1, minimum pensions for miners, families of military personnel in case of the breadwinner's loss, as well as veterans of war and victims of Nazi persecution will also be increased. These changes aim to improve the social security of the population in the country.

This increase in pensions and social benefits is part of the Ukrainian government's efforts to improve the financial situation of the most vulnerable segments of the population, particularly the elderly, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

In the face of economic challenges such as inflation and rising living costs, these changes can significantly ease the financial burden on citizens and provide a more stable life for those who rely on government support.
