Changes in the pension system of Ukraine from January 1, 2026

According to ХВИЛЯ: As of January 1, 2026, pensions and social benefits in Ukraine have been increased. This decision is an important step in supporting social protection for the population, especially for the most vulnerable categories.

According to new data, the minimum wage in Ukraine is now 8,647 UAH, which is an increase compared to the previous level of 8,000 UAH. The minimum pension amount for non-working individuals aged 65 and older with full insurance history is now 3,458.80 UAH. Additionally, the subsistence minimum for individuals who have lost their ability to work has increased from 2,361 UAH to 2,595 UAH. For non-working pensioners with full insurance history, the minimum pension for age has increased by 234 UAH, reaching 2,595 UAH.

Additional payments and recalculations

An additional payment for over-normative service has also been introduced, which provides for an increase in pensions by 1% of 2,595 UAH for each full year beyond the norm. It is also significant that from January 1, the minimum pensions for miners, families of servicemen in case of loss of breadwinner, war veterans, and victims of Nazi persecution have been recalculated. These changes aim to improve the financial situation of those who need it most.
