4.2 Billion Hryvnias Went to Pension Payments in September
Ukraine Releases Funds for Pensions and Social Programs
According to Пенсії (RSS): As of September 3, 2023, Ukrainian authorities had disbursed 7.4 billion hryvnias across several welfare programs. The money covered pensions, housing subsidies, insurance benefits, and social assistance, with pension outlays making up the largest share at 4.2 billion hryvnias.
- Pension payments: 4.2 billion hryvnias;
- Housing subsidies and allowances: 1.4 billion hryvnias;
- Insurance payouts: 1.6 billion hryvnias;
- Social assistance: 12.0 million hryvnias.
Within the pension total, 2.1 billion hryvnias were channeled through Ukrposhta JSC and another 2.1 billion through authorized banks. Insurance payouts included 0.2 billion hryvnias for sick leave. By early September, the Pension Fund of Ukraine had handled 171,700 service requests from citizens.
This regular flow of payments highlights the government's effort to preserve financial stability and support vulnerable groups amid economic pressures. The involvement of Ukrposhta and commercial banks remains a key factor in making sure that benefits reach people across the country.
