According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian pensioners who have moved overseas and replaced their paper passports with new ID cards may encounter difficulties when undergoing physical identity checks. This issue arises because the personal data stored in the Pension Fund's databases from their old passports no longer matches the information on their new ID cards. If the data does not align, the verification process can fail, putting pension payments at risk.

To prevent such problems, retirees need to update their personal records in the Register of Insured Persons and in their pension files. This update can be done remotely. The Pension Fund of Ukraine has provided a video guide for completing this procedure, and changes can also be made through the personal account on the PFU electronic services web portal.

Steps for Updating Records

The process for modifying pension file data follows this sequence:

• Select "Pension Provision"
• Choose "Make Changes to Pension File"
• Submit an "Application for Change of Personal Data" (when name and/or passport details have changed)

The application must be signed with a qualified electronic signature. After the data is updated, remote physical identification can be carried out via Diia.Signature or through a video conference link. If the records are not updated before the video identification attempt, the procedure will not succeed.
