Pensioners Abroad and in Occupied Areas Must Complete Physical Verification by December 31
Physical Verification Process for Pension Recipients
According to Пенсії (RSS): All pensioners and beneficiaries receiving insurance payments who reside temporarily outside Ukraine or in territories currently under occupation are required to complete a physical verification process by December 31 each year. This step is essential to confirm that pension and benefit recipients are alive. To facilitate this, there are four available verification methods designed for convenience.
Available Verification Methods
- Online Verification: The first option allows pensioners to verify their status online through the 'Diia.Signature' (or 'Diia ID') system. Users must log into their personal account on the Pension Fund's e-services portal or use the 'Pension Fund of Ukraine' mobile app to complete this process.
- Video Conference Verification: The second method involves identification via video call. Pensioners can apply using the 'Video Conference Identification Application' service or contact the Pension Fund’s Call Center at 0 800 503 753, (044) 281-08-70, or (044) 281-08-71. During a scheduled video session with a Fund representative, the individual must present a passport or other official ID.
- In-Person Visit: The third alternative is to visit any Pension Fund service center or an authorized bank branch in person. Beneficiaries can access these services regardless of their registered address, but must bring an identity document like a Ukrainian citizen's passport.
- Verification via Ukrainian Diplomatic Missions Abroad: The fourth option is designed for those temporarily living overseas and involves verification at a Ukrainian embassy or consulate. After verification, the documents should be sent by mail to the local Pension Fund office along with an application to renew payments, or submitted online through the Fund’s portal with a qualified electronic signature (#QES).
Verification results and scheduled dates can be checked through the 'My Identification' service available in the personal account on the Pension Fund’s website or mobile app. For additional guidance, including transferring pension payments to the recipient's actual place of residence, contact the Pension Fund’s Call Center.
This requirement ensures that pensions and social benefits continue to reach individuals living abroad or in occupied territories. The physical verification process helps prevent fraud and guarantees fair access to government payments.
Given ongoing military conflict and economic challenges, having clear and accessible verification procedures is vital to maintaining social stability for vulnerable populations.
