How to Apply for a Pension Online via the PFU Portal

According to ХВИЛЯ: Residents can now submit their pension applications entirely online through the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) portal, as announced by the Main Department of the Pension Fund in the Zakarpattia region. The process relies on the Diia.Signature feature, eliminating the need for a qualified electronic signature (QES). Users start by logging in with a QR code, uploading scanned copies of required documents, and signing the application digitally.

Step-by-Step Application Process

To use this new service, you first need to set up the technical requirements: install the Diia app on your smartphone and activate Diia.Signature. Begin by clicking the 'Login' button and selecting authorization via Diia.Signature. The system will generate a QR code, which you scan using the Diia app. After scanning, you enter your personal account by using FaceID and entering a five-digit code.

Inside your account, choose the 'Application for Pension Assignment' section, specify the pension type (old-age or length of service), and fill out the questionnaire. Next, upload scanned copies of your documents, following these guidelines:

  • Scans must be in color, clear, and legible;
  • Each file size must not exceed 1 MB.

After uploading, click the 'Generate Application' button and sign it using Diia.Signature. The application will then be sent to the relevant territorial office of the Pension Fund.

According to PFU representatives, 'Now you don't need to visit a Pension Fund office to apply-everything can be done online. Even a qualified electronic signature (QES) is not mandatory, as you can use Diia.Signature instead.'

Fund experts emphasize: 'Always use original documents when scanning. Scans must be in color, clear, and legible. The maximum file size is 1 MB.'

To monitor the status of your application, a 'My Requests' section is available, allowing citizens to track progress. This new online service significantly simplifies the pension application process for Ukrainians.

The launch of this online pension application service marks a major step forward in Ukraine's push to digitize government services. It aims to reduce queues at Pension Fund offices and save citizens time. Such technological advancements align with modern e-governance trends, ultimately making pension services more accessible to all segments of the population.

As the Pension Fund continues to streamline processes, it's also essential to understand how to manage your work records digitally. This can simplify your pension application further.
