Pension Recalculation: Which Working Pensioners Need to Submit an Application

Starting from April 1, Ukraine will launch the annual pension recalculation for working pensioners. In most cases, it will be conducted automatically, but some individuals will need to contact the Pension Fund in person. This is reported by the Judicial and Legal Newspaper.

Recalculation occurs if the necessary insurance record is available. If, as of March 1, 2026, the pensioner continues to work and has at least 24 months of insurance experience, or if two years have passed since the last pension review, payments will be recalculated without an application.

Pension Recalculation 2026: When It Happens Automatically

In such cases, pensioners do not need to contact any institutions. The amount of payments will be reviewed taking into account the new insurance record.

During the calculation, the following may be used:

• previous salary indicators

• updated data after the last recalculation.

This allows for changes in income and work experience to be considered without additional actions from the pensioner.

Working Pensioners: Who Needs to Submit an Application

If the required experience of 24 months is accumulated only after March 1, there will be no automatic recalculation. In this case, it is necessary to contact the Pension Fund with an application.

It can be submitted immediately after the right to recalculation is acquired. The following conditions apply:

• if the application is submitted by the 15th - the new payment amount will be calculated from the next month

• if later - payments will change after another month.

The annual pension recalculation is a standard procedure for working pensioners. It allows for additional insurance experience to be considered and increases the amount of payments based on accumulated indicators.

Previously, we reported that pensioners in Ukraine can initiate an individual pension recalculation under certain circumstances. This can be done online through the Diia portal or the Pension Fund's website, as well as in person at the relevant institutions. The application review period is 10 days.
