Transition to winter time: an important date and what will change for Ukrainians
Ukrainians will switch to winter time
According to the report from 'Hvylya', in autumn 2025 Ukraine will restore the tradition of switching to winter time. This means that Ukrainians will have to turn the clock back by one hour.
This procedure will take place on the night of Saturday, October 25 to Sunday, October 26 at 4:00 AM.
Despite numerous attempts to cancel the time change, this decision did not receive support from the head of state, and therefore the tradition remains.
Changes for Ukrainians and other countries
There are several important aspects related to the transition to winter time. Digital devices will automatically adjust to the new time, while regular clocks will need to be adjusted manually. This transition affects the daylight - it will be lighter in the morning, and evening will come faster.
Doctors advise being careful during this period, as possible disruptions to the body's internal rhythms may occur.
Globally, about 70 countries, including Ukraine, remain committed to the transition to winter time, while more than 120 nations have already abandoned this practice. The possibility of canceling this tradition remains open.
Ukrainians will again switch to winter time in autumn 2025, turning the clocks back by one hour. This will lead to changes in daylight and is expected to affect the body's internal rhythms, which requires attention, especially during the transition period. At this time, Ukraine will join the countries that support the time change, but the possibility of canceling this practice is still on the table for future consideration.
