New Rules for Ukraine's Transport Operators

According to Главком: Carriers running interregional routes in Ukraine can now convert their paper permits into digital ones. This shift follows the launch of a new feature within the carrier’s personal account on the Ukrtransbezpeka system. Previously, electronic permits were only issued after fresh competitions, making the process more cumbersome for operators.

Ukraine has over 3,900 interregional routes. The first to be digitized were Poltava-Pryluky (No. 679/680) and Boryspil-Ochakiv-Chornomorska Kosa (No. 7/8). This change is designed to streamline permit acquisition, boosting efficiency and convenience for carriers.

Streamlined Technical Inspections

The Ukrainian government has also unified the technical inspection process for international carriers. Where once two separate checks were required, a single inspection now confirms compliance with all standards. The market for technical inspections has been opened to accredited entities, which should improve service quality. European practices have been adopted, including a unified defect classification, clear vehicle operation rules, and data integration into the state system.

These reforms aim to enhance passenger service and road safety across Ukraine. The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development and Ukrtransbezpeka continue working to upgrade the country's transport infrastructure.

The introduction of digital permits and unified technical inspections reflects Ukraine’s push to modernize its transport system in line with European standards.

These measures not only simplify carriers’ work but also promise to raise passenger service quality and road safety. With such initiatives, Ukraine is moving closer to integrating into the European transport space, which could spur industry growth and improve overall mobility for its citizens.

As Ukraine continues to enhance its transport sector, the recent unification of technical inspections for international carriers is a significant step forward. This change not only eliminates duplicate checks but also aligns with European standards, ensuring a more efficient process.
