Emergency Services Respond to Hundreds of Flood Calls Across Three Ukrainian Regions

According to ДСНС: Emergency services in Ukraine are actively responding to widespread flooding affecting multiple regions. As of the morning of February 16, rescue teams are deployed to manage the aftermath, pumping out water and providing aid to affected residents.
Regional Response Efforts
In Kirovohrad Oblast, rescue units have been dispatched 120 times to address flood damage. The operation involves 180 personnel, 48 pieces of specialized equipment, and 34 motor pumps. In Mykolaiv Oblast, flooding has impacted 49 household plots across 17 settlements. The highest volume of emergency calls originated from the following districts:
- Pervomaisk
- Voznesensk
- Bashtanka
In Cherkasy Oblast, State Emergency Service units were called out 40 times to assist residents, performing tasks such as pumping water from homes and towing stranded vehicles. These severe weather events are part of a challenging winter season for the country. Rescue crews are coordinating with municipal utilities and local fire brigades to stabilize the situation in the impacted areas.
The flooding requires an urgent and sustained response from emergency services, as it disrupts the lives of many citizens. The coordinated efforts of rescue and utility workers are crucial for restoring normal living conditions. Continued inter-agency cooperation is vital to mitigate the impact of such natural disasters in the future.
