Benefits for Pensioners: The Pension Fund of Ukraine Clarified Who is Entitled to a One-Hundred Percent Discount on Utilities
Pensioners in Ukraine are entitled to compensation for utility expenses
The Pension Fund of Ukraine announced that some pensioners in Ukraine may receive full compensation for utility expenses. This benefit of 100% is available to elderly individuals who initially worked in rural areas and stayed there for retirement.
Among the pensioners who can take advantage of this benefit are rural teachers, medical workers, pharmacists, museum workers, library staff, and plant protection and culture workers. To qualify for the discount, they need at least three months of experience in the corresponding position and must have worked in that position at the time of retirement.
The discount on utilities is issued through the branches of the Pension Fund of Ukraine and does not apply to other family members.
Other Social Guarantees for Pensioners in Ukraine
Pensioners in Ukraine can use free public transport, be exempt from paying land tax, receive free legal assistance for low-income individuals, and also receive housing subsidies to reduce utility costs.
The amount of the subsidy is calculated individually based on the pensioner's income and the cost of services in their region. Payments for housing and communal services have also been canceled for another category of citizens.
Ukrainian pensioners have a number of social benefits, among which is the ability to receive full compensation for utility expenses, free use of public transport, exemption from paying land tax, and others. These measures are aimed at improving the quality of life for pensioners and supporting their social status in Ukraine.
