Benefits for utility services: how a family can receive unpaid funds of the deceased
Arranging the payment of unpaid funds in the event of a person's death
In the event of the death of a person who received benefits for payment of utility services, their relatives have the opportunity to arrange the payment of unpaid funds. This right is established in paragraph 14 of the Procedure for granting benefits for the payment of housing and utility services, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution No. 373 dated April 17, 2019.
Necessary documents for receiving funds
To receive the specified funds, it is necessary to contact any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. It is important to prepare the necessary documents:
- application for the appointment of the payment,
- death certificate,
- passport of a citizen of Ukraine,
- certificate with bank details.
Attention should be paid to the deadlines for submitting the application. The application must be submitted before the end of the current budget period; otherwise, the right to receive funds is lost. Thus, the relatives of the deceased person have the opportunity to receive financial assistance in the form of unpaid benefits for utility services, following established procedures.
This information is important for the relatives of deceased persons, as it allows them to receive the necessary financial support during a difficult time.
Contacting the Pension Fund of Ukraine and following the specified procedures can help avoid losing the opportunity to receive these funds, which can be significant in the context of the financial burden on the family.
