Trump's Plan: 28 Points for Peace in Ukraine and Possible Consequences

Trump offers a peace plan for Ukraine
План Трампа: 28 кроків до миру в Україні та ймовірні наслідки.

Peace Settlement Plan for the Conflict in Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: The plan by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine may serve as a basis for halting hostilities, notes The Times. This plan includes 28 points that propose various solutions to stabilize the situation in the region.

In particular, the plan includes:

  • enshrining the refusal to join NATO in Ukraine's Constitution, which could reduce tension in relations with Russia;
  • maintaining Ukraine's non-nuclear status;
  • limiting the size of the Ukrainian army to 600 thousand personnel;
  • recognizing Crimea, the DPR, and LPR as Russian territories, which could significantly alter the geopolitical landscape.

Furthermore, the plan includes lifting sanctions on Russia and its return to the G8, which sparks debates among international experts. According to forecasts, Ukraine will not be able to reclaim the territories occupied by Russia in the foreseeable future.

Analysts believe that such an approach could help stop the killings and allow focusing on the reconstruction of Ukraine. However, the text of the plan is considered careless, filled with ambiguities and red lines, although it may, perhaps, mark the beginning of the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Trump's proposals may lead to serious political debates in Ukraine and beyond. Recognizing Crimea and other territories as Russian, as well as changes in Ukraine's defense policy, could significantly impact the country and its international relations. This plan highlights the complexity of the situation in the region and the necessity for compromises in the pursuit of lasting peace, which may require significant concessions from Ukraine.
