Hryniv on Putin's goal: control over Ukraine and gathering of Russian lands
Ukrainian political technologist Ihor Hryniv stated in an interview with the publication 'Hlavkom' that Russia is conducting large-scale aggression against Ukraine, driven by revanchist sentiments. The main goal of Putin is control over Ukraine and 'gathering of Russian lands'.
Russians believe that they won World War II, but lost World War III - the 'Cold War', just as Hitler wanted revanchism for World War I, Putin has unleashed revanchist sentiments in Russian society.
Ihor Hryniv emphasized that for Putin it is important to have control over Europe and Asia, creating a G3 format (America, China, Russia). Ukraine is crucial in this plan, as he needs it as a means for revanchism and 'gathering of Russian lands'.
Regarding democracy, Hryniv defined Ukrainian society as 'the last samurai of democracy in Europe'. He also emphasized the importance of democratic governance for the country and expressed concern about the loss of citizens' trust in the authorities due to scandals and attempts to limit oversight bodies.
