According to ХВИЛЯ: The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center forecasts a mostly cloudy day with some clear spells for February 22. Precipitation in the form of snow and rain is expected, but will only affect certain parts of the country. While most regions will stay dry, drivers should be aware of potential ice formation on roads, except in the southeastern areas. This kind of wintry mix is common during transitional late-winter weather.

A southwesterly wind of 5-10 m/s is forecast for most areas, shifting to a northeasterly direction of similar strength in the south and east. In the Carpathian Mountains, gusts could reach 15-20 m/s. Overnight lows across Ukraine will range from -10°C to -15°C, with the northeast potentially seeing temperatures drop as low as -18°C.

Regional Temperatures and Conditions

Daytime highs will vary from -3°C to +2°C. In the western and southern oblasts, nighttime temperatures will be between -1°C and -6°C, warming to +1°C to +6°C during the day. In Crimea, temperatures will remain above freezing, with daytime highs reaching up to +8°C.

No precipitation is expected in the Kyiv region or the capital itself on February 22, but icy roads will persist. The Kyiv oblast will see overnight lows of -10°C to -15°C, with daytime temperatures ranging from -3°C to +2°C. In the city of Kyiv, expect nighttime lows of -10°C to -12°C and a daytime high around 0°C.

According to meteorologists, light snow is possible overnight in the western, Zhytomyr, and Vinnytsia oblasts, as well as in the south of Odesa oblast, turning to rain during the day. The rest of the country will remain dry.
