Ukraine Weather Forecast for February 27

According to ХВИЛЯ: A high-pressure system will bring a cool air mass to Ukraine on February 27, with no significant precipitation expected for most of the country. According to Ukrhydrometcentre, skies will be partly cloudy with clear spells. In contrast, a passing atmospheric front will bring light wet snow and rain to the southern coast of Crimea overnight.

Drivers should be cautious as black ice will form on roads across most of the country, excluding the southern regions and Zakarpattia. Fog is forecast overnight and into the morning in northern areas, which will significantly reduce visibility. Meteorologists note,

“fog is expected in places overnight and in the morning across most northern regions”

. Winds will be predominantly southeasterly, shifting to northerly in the eastern and southern oblasts, with speeds of 5-10 meters per second.

Temperature Readings

Nighttime temperatures will range from -2 to -8 degrees Celsius, dropping to -9 to -12 degrees in the Carpathian Mountains. Daytime highs will vary from -2 to +3 degrees Celsius, while the southern part of the country will see milder temperatures of +2 to +8 degrees.

No precipitation is expected in Kyiv and the Kyiv region on February 27. However, morning fog and icy patches on roads are possible. Nighttime temperatures in the capital will be -4 to -6 degrees, warming to around 0 degrees during the day.

The forecast for February 27 indicates a period of cold but largely dry weather across Ukraine, which is typical for late winter. This weather pattern requires extra caution from motorists due to the risks of fog and ice, particularly in the north. The localized wet snow and rain in southern Crimea highlight the variable conditions that can arise from passing weather fronts.
