According to ХВИЛЯ: Meteorologist Natalia Didenko forecasts a cold spell for Ukraine, starting on March 17 and lasting for a week. The eastern regions, along with Sumy, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, will see the lowest daytime temperatures, ranging from +4 to +8 degrees Celsius. Across the rest of the country, temperatures will be slightly higher, between +8 and +11 degrees.

Forecast for Kyiv and Precautions

In Kyiv on the night of March 17, temperatures will drop to around zero, with frosts down to -2 degrees possible in the suburbs. Daytime highs in the capital are expected to reach +7 to +9 degrees. Light rain is forecast for eastern and Transcarpathian regions. This cool weather pattern will persist across Ukraine for the entire week.

Didenko noted that while temperatures will not be extreme, winds are expected to be light, which could create a sense of comfort outdoors if people dress appropriately for the conditions.

She also advises postponing tasks like window washing to avoid catching a chill. A noticeable warming trend is predicted for March 23, when temperatures in western Ukraine could climb to +16 degrees. This date also coincides with World Meteorological Day. This forecast is particularly relevant as Ukraine's climate is typically continental, with significant seasonal shifts in March.
