According to a new bill, fines for speeding may increase, and the 'non-fine threshold' for exceeding the speed limit will be reduced from 20 km/h to 10 km/h. Clear fines for violating speed limits are also being introduced to improve road safety.

'Speed regime – the reduction of the 'non-fine threshold' from 20 to 10 km/h, clear gradation of fines for violating speed limits,' the legislative initiatives of the patrol police state.

Such changes are planned to improve discipline on the roads and reduce accidents. Additionally, among other legislative initiatives of the police are increased responsibility for traffic violations and regulation of electric transport, as well as the possibility of introducing penalty points for offenders. Drafts of changes to the speed regime are under consideration, along with other bills.

Moreover, the parliament is discussing a bill that may require drivers over 65 years of age to undergo additional medical and psychological examinations. This initiative is provoking discussion in society, as it needs detailed consideration.

In short, the police of Ukraine plan to strengthen control over compliance with speed limits on the roads, introducing stricter fines and other innovations that may positively affect the safety of road users.
