According to Главком: Police in the city of Uzyn have detained two men for illegally catching fish with nets during the spawning season. Their combined activities resulted in damages exceeding 91,000 hryvnias. The first detainee, a 63-year-old man, is responsible for damages of over 53,000 hryvnias. The second, a 47-year-old local resident, caused damages of nearly 38,000 hryvnias.

Investigative Actions and Combating Illegal Fishing

Investigative measures included an inspection of the scene, where fishing gear was seized. Pre-trial investigations have now been initiated under Part 1 of Article 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The Bila Tserkva District Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural guidance.
