Polish carrier PKP Intercity announced the start of the international night train EN Carpatia, which from December 14 will connect Przemyśl with Munich, Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest. This is one of the key routes for travelers using the crossing through Przemyśl — the main railway hub for Ukrainians. This is reported by The Independent.

Train EN Carpatia: Route and Available Wagons

EN Carpatia expands the possibilities for passengers traveling between Poland, Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Slovakia. Different classes of carriages are available on board:

  • seats

  • compartments

  • sleeping cars.

The route will be especially convenient for Ukrainians who use flights through Przemyśl daily, as the city has long been a key transit point.

The Significance of the Route for the Region

The launch of EN Carpatia strengthens Poland's role as a transit center in Eastern Europe. The expansion of the international network will contribute to the development of tourism, business trips, and cultural exchange. PKP Intercity adds that the train fits into the strategy of modernization and integration with the European transport system, as well as increasing passenger mobility on popular routes.

Earlier we wrote that European railways are expanding the network of international routes — from April 15, 2026 a new EuroNight night train will be launched, which will run between Switzerland and Sweden.
