According to glavcom.ua: Yuriy Ivashchenko, the chief designer of the Su-25 and Sukhoi Superjet 100, has passed away at the age of 92. This was reported by the news agency 'Glavkom'.

Ivashchenko headed the Sukhoi design bureau from 1980 to 1985, where his credits include the development of the Su-25, participation in the design of the Sukhoi-9 and Sukhoi-15 fighters, as well as in the development of the T-4 reconnaissance bomber. In 2000, he became the head of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 project.
